How did you respond to the feedback from your initial proposal? What will you change in your second round of sketches that are due soon? 


            I took the feedback as constructive criticism and applied the necessary changes. I will change the placement of the text so it flows with the magazine better, and utilize white space so parts of the magazine don't look isolated.

  How did you receive the feedback on the photos? Do they still fit within your vision of the final magazine? What are some things you might want to change about the layout of your magazine after receiving feedback about the photos?          I received feedback on the photos by critique during an online class. The photo fit into my vision of my final magazine perfectly, as I was going to put the image into a photo-editing program to make adjustments for the magazine cover. The only photo I took was for the cover page, and the cover page was the photo, so I didn't change anything for the rest of the magazine for any additional photos.

Creative Critical Reflection

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?               My magazine layout is minimalistic with minor adjustments to the images and their placement, to let the audience focus on the text and the illustrations that accompany it. My magazine represents the issues ongoing in China and its government that restricts freedom of speech and carries out the destruction of culture. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?                   My magazine engages audiences with symbolism, an example being the cover page. It grabs the audience's attention and gives a statement about the Chinese government and how it uses its power to silence groups of people that have cultural or religious differences.  How did your production skills develop throughout this project?     ...

Citizen Kane Discussion Post

mise en scène refers to what we see onscreen in a film. It’s the film’s visuals; meaning, all of the elements that appear on camera and their arrangement. Using the S.E.E format analyze this clip below:                                 The scene is filmed at a low angle to make us feel weak , like a little rodent getting in on a secret. The dialogue and the little pauses formed in hesitation keep us in suspense. Their attire signifies that this movie takes place somewhere around after WW2. The fact that this whole scene is shot in black and white gives a noir vibe, like a mysterious crime drama.
